Ahh summer…time for VACATION! The sun is shining, birds are singing, and daylight is lingering. I know all I want to do is enjoy the summer and take a trip. Road trip, day trip, even a field trip. It’s all good.
I don’t know about you, but I like to travel light. It’s nice because my bag’s easier to carry, there’s more room to stuff newly purchased clothes, and I’ll actually wear what I pack. It’s all about packing the essentials, pieces to mix and match. So what should you pack for a trip? Here are my vacation fashion picks:
The Chambray Shirt
A great casual layering piece to throw on over a maxi dress or to wear with cute shorts. I like the shade of blue in the AG Adriano Goldschmied Chambray Button Down Shirt for $142.
The One-Piece Swimsuit
A one-piece doubles as a swimsuit and as a top. Throw on some shorts and you’re good to go. I especially like the MARC BY MARC JACOBS ‘Finch Charm’ Peplum One Piece Swimsuit for $182, which is following the peplum trend.
The Maxi Dress
The maxi dress is so elegant, with its floor-skimming skirt. Wear it during the day with sandal wedges then at night with strappy sandals and chandelier earrings. Pick a more versatile maxi like the 10 Crosby by Derek Lam Maxi Dress with Neck Tie for $995.
The Basic Tee
The basic tee goes with just about everything. Knotted over the maxi and wear it with a pair of shorts. I like the loose-fitting Velvet Sumi Scoop Neck T-Shirt for $126. Then accessorize with a cozy scarf, some fem sunglasses, and a bright clutch.
The Dressy Shorts
Shorts are extremely comfy but I like to get extra use out of my shorts and wear it from day to night. So go for a dressier short like the Anna Sui RUNWAY Floral Scalloped Lace Shorts for $264.
Faliero Sarti ‘Thurman’ Scarf for $334.
Hive & Honey Starfish Chandelier Earring for just $18.
Nixon The Kensington Watch for $175.
KG Hue Strappy Slingback Sandals for $249.
Nine West – PipinHot for $89.
