As I’ve mentioned in Tips for Volunteering at Seattle Fashion Week, I’ve been volunteering at Seattle Fashion Week 2011. This year, Men’s Fashion Night was held at the historic King Cat Theater in downtown Seattle. From 10:30 in the morning until 9 at night, I worked a long day, but it was well worth it! While I was exposed to Seattle fashion, it gave me the opportunity to explore my career options and push myself out of my comfort zone. I met so many amazing people (like the chill models, inspiring volunteers, and creative designers), that I’m still busy following-up.
Oh, but I can’t forget the show! An hour before the doors had opened, people were already lined up outside to get in. Then while people checked-in, everyone mingled and sipped cocktails before the show.
On the runway, designs featured were from Voss Rock, Jordan Klein, Darkheart Eco Apparel, The Finerie Collection: Avva, Built For Man, Moods of Norway, and Dorsia. From Jordan Klein’s futuristic-punk influence to Darkheart Eco Apparel’s steampunk inspiration, I have to give it up to the amazing styling job by the designers and styling assistants! It was a majorly badass show, proving that Seattle has the chops to be the next big fashion city.
Take a look for yourself. Here are some of the photos for the day:
What an amazing show. And to think, every year only gets better. Check out a recap of the week over at Couture Petite.
