“Could-Have-Been Love Story”

Have you seen the “Could-have-been love story” video? I’m assuming the message of the video is that we shouldn’t hold back how we really feel but instead express our true feelings. In other words, if the two had truly said what was on their minds, they could have fallen in love. Happily ever after, right? I think not! They probably would’ve gotten bored with each other and broken things off. Love. Careers. Life. It’s all a game. We truly appreciate the things in life that we know we worked hard for rather than those things that were handed to us. Take for example that bubbling pot of braised pork and apple stew you slaved over the other night for dinner. How much did you enjoy it? Would you have enjoyed it as much if it had just magically popped right in front of you? Don’t kid yourself. The answer is no.

What I’m saying is, don’t put everything out there. Keep things interesting by creating a little mystery, but don’t be wishy-washy. Make that other person want to work to get to know you. Besides, what’s the rush? You don’t need a “someone who completes me” to live life.
